By the way…i am a male and do not enjoy scrapbooking or jewelery making. Some things that looked cool…but too expensive were chip art (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chip_art ) , and airsoft.

My family has been to several places to "do your own pottery/ ceramics" and they fire them for you. (In much larger cities) Our size is maybe 12,000 pop. My goal is to open something similar to this yet allow different classes to be taught also. Ex: painting, scrapbooking, batiking, sewing, sculpture, stainglass…any mediums people (children and teenagers also) would be intrested in. A place for all ages (allow kids to have b-day parties!) Also giving teens a place to hang & show their talents. Of course the art mind has no sense of the business mind. I clearly need advice on how this could be started and where to look for financing . It would be a great opportunity for this small town in TX w/nada. Allowing families and kids to do something unique. I have many ideas and themes found by talking to others. I feel that placing some of the profits with local and international charities would be a good way to give back. (Hab 4 Hum, YoungLife, Compassion I.) Just need a place to start.

wHEN MY WIFE AND i OPENED OUR SHOP,QUITE SOME TIME AGO, iT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET it GOING. Most people have no idea what they wanna make, and it usually boils down to a CUP with their name on it….don’t ask me why. You will need a lot of very simple things for people to start on or they will get discouraged and not come back. Have a sample of at least one, of everything in soft ware for them to see. You will need two or three kilns, different sizes. We used an old washing mashine to mix our slip. I have a set of Whiskey Decanters that were samples, and have been offered $200.00 for it.

Christmas List ideas..?

Hi! I know everyone is probably sick of these questions, but I really need a few ideas. I’m not going to put a lot of stuff on my list, just a few things, but my mom always asks for a list every year. I’m a teenage girl by the way. I have been buying things and figuring out what to get my parents and brother and I totally forgot to make a list, so I need some ideas. Thank you so much!

Oh and by the way I like movies and books and also shopping. I’m pretty much into everything besides sports. Also lately i’ve been getting more interested in art like maybe drawing or painting or even scrapbooking, but I don’t know what to ask for when it comes to that stuff? Thanks everyone!
By the way please don’t be rude to me. I’ve noticed some people get a little rude when it comes to these questions. I understand Christmas is about giving and thats what i’ve been worrying about, and I don’t ask for 100 things like some people do,just saying. Thank you =]

for Beginner

We have prepared some guidelines in here that you may modify and apply in your own experiences.

Basically, this is just a collection of ideas that will help shed light on the thoughts bugging in your mind.

Somehow you have to know your own style.
Shine up with your personality.

Know your personal tastes and refrain from following the hypes and fads as presented in the scrapbooking industry.

This way, you will more likely to produced original and personal ideas that will work best in your own ways.

Sometimes, we have to find outlets for our personalities to show.

Some people do writing stuffs, some delve into less serious practices.

Scrapbooking though may fill the gaps between the two.

If it is really that difficult to produce an original idea, you can forgive yourself by mimicking other scrapper’s works.

Many find great uses in other people’ s designs.
Sometimes, they even bring out the best from adopting a concept into their own.

This technique is called scraplifting.
Other people choose not to follow this concept.

However for beginners it is always easier to follow those that worked for many.

We are going on a cruise for our band trip and I would need to earn $200. I am good at interior design, drawing, working with clay, flute, lettering, origami, graphic design, sewing, scrapbooking, babysitting, building things (I’m not shy with power tools), basically any kind of design, making home spa things, and working with computers. I have an eye for detail and am very meticulous whenever I make something. I need ideas for making money, preferably something I could continue to do even after I make enough money, like an etsy shop. But I wouldn’t know what to sell! I was thinking home spa stuff and random items, even tie-dyed shoes (I did it with keds today and everyone loves them). But I would LOVE any ideas you have!

um you could make some hollow books
llike just cuting out like a square in books
so that people could hide crap in them
you could sell them on www.etsy.com
they sell for big bucks the cheapest are like $22 so yeah
good luck on getting your cruise(:

I have taken scrapbooking paper and decoupaged one of those notebooks that you use in college. The black and white checked ones called composition notebooks. I used modge poge and it turned out beautifully. Well my daughter has to make a recipie book for a brownie patch and I thought I could use one of those folders that have the 3 ring binder type in the center. That way she could add recipies easily. Can you decoupage one of those folders or is it just better to have her decorate it with paint and markers? Does anyone have any good ideas to decorate something that will be cheap but nice for a recipie holder.

I’m sure you could decoupage it just fine. If you are using Mod Podge it will dry up pretty study. Why not try it and see. If it doesn’t work, you haven’t lost much. But I think it will be fine.
