Is it weird to always be taking pictures?

by admin on August 13, 2010

I couldn’t even begin to guess how many pictures I must have on my camera.. They’re mostly of all of my friends just being your average, silly teenagers having fun. Do you think it’s weird to like taking pictures of everything I do? I scrapbook a lot, but ink is expensive, so lately my pictures have just been stuck on my computer. :( Of course I print special occasion pictures, but with my friends I now find myself taking pictures of us just for the fun of it. Is this weird? Should I leave my camera at home when we hang out & just care about having fun with my friends.. and not worry about having pictures of everything? Or is it ok to take so many pictures? Kinda weird question, so thanks a ton if you answer! :D Oh, and ps ~ I have sooo many pictures of all of my friends, but none really of my family? I love them, but we just don’t hang out that much. Should I feel badly about this?

Until you have children then taking photos of your friends more then your family is totally normal. I’m sure your parents don’t bounce off beds and have "pillow fights" (examples) so naturally you want to photograph interesting and fun matter so i don’t see anything wrong with that at all. I took photos of everyone and everything growing up and the thought that it may appear "weird" to others never crossed my mind. I’m pretty sure singers just sing all the time and it’s not weird, it’s just what they love to do so continue with your passion and who really cares what others think, this is your life:)

BTW why don’t you create a group on yahoo for you and your friends and have a virtual scrapbook for everyone to share and post memories:)

I don’t think there is anything wrong with taking a lot of pictures. I always have my camera in my purse with me. It’s nice to have pictures of the memories you have with friends. No, you shouldn’t feel badly about not having many pictures with your family. You don’t see them often so that’s not your fault.

No it is not weird. Keep it up. You can rectify the issue of having few photos of your family by hanging out with them a bit more and photographing them. Simple really.

Not at all especially if the subjects (i.e. your friends) enjoy their photos taken. They record the happy and other moments. Printing them costs a ton (if done at home)–so send them electronically to http://www.costcophotocenter.com or http://www.winkflash.com (cheaper) and the prints will last longer anyway. But do back them up somewhere so you won’t lose those precious memories.
